Road Trip to North Dakota

On the 14th of May around 4:30 in the morning, we received a call from Uncle Will. Letting us know that his dear wife, Nova, passed away. She had been diagnosed with a rare form of Dementia. They had her in a nursing home and Uncle Will was cleaning and making the necessary changes so that he could care for her at home. Aunt Nova didn't want to live with this disease and put her family through it so she decided it was time to go home to God. She was a brilliant woman with a very sharp mind. I wish I would have gotten to know her more. I met her when I was younger but hadn't seen her for many years. It's a shame as a family that we don't see each other more, but this happens when you live thousands of miles away.
Mom wasn't sure if she was going to make it. I told her we have to go, no doubt about it. Uncle Will would need us. So we made arrangements and headed out on May 17th. We rented a Toyota Prius. We got great gas mileage and spent the time listening to books on tape. That made the time go by so much faster. Enjoyed it and I wasn't sure I would. Our first stop for the night was in Sheridan, WY. We stayed at a Holiday Inn (it was the closes hotel). It was ok and mom and I just crashed for the night. We drove through some beautiful country that next morning. We arrived in Minot, ND around 7pm and had a wonderful dinner with Uncle Will and Rick.
I was so glad that we made it up there to offer our support to them. Aunt Nova looked wonderful, they did such a wonderful job on her. It has been a long time since I have seen someone looks so peaceful, happy and natural at a viewing. Everyone did a wonderful job at the funeral with their talks and songs. Our thoughts and prayers will still be with you Uncle Will and Rick.

We left Minot Thursday, May 21st to start our journey home. This time we decided to drive through Montana down through Yellowstone. I must say that Livingston, MT was the most beautiful place I have seen in a long time. It was a gorgeous drive! We stayed in Bozeman, MT that night and headed out that next morning for Yellowstone. Here is some of the things we saw in Yellowstone.

It has been almost 30 years since I have seen Yellowstone.
I was in AWE!

A few different animals we saw.

He was less then 20 yards from our car

how beautiful is this?

Old Faithful

Sorry when I was filming this I didn't think about what it would do when I turned the camera. I just wanted to get the full height in it. It was also very sunny and I had a hard time seeing what I was filming. It was just as grand as I remembered as a child. I'm so happy that we waited the 90 mins to see it. The rest of the day's drive was gorgeous. As we headed out the south entrance we were in a lot of snow. The Tetons was amazing and it has been awhile since I had been in Jackson Hole. I just wish we didn't have to hurry back so I could have stayed a few days in Yellowstone and Jackson. It just makes me want to plan another trip. If you get some time head up to Yellowstone and take in all the glory it has to offer you.

Proud Wife

Shobi receiving his certificate
I am so proud of my husband. He has been taking courses to help him out in finding a job. This was his first course at Global Aviation Institute. He passed with high scores and is working on his next course. This will help him be a travel agent or a ticket officer at the airport. He has been working with a travel agent the last year and has enjoyed it. Hopefully he will be here instead of taking a 3rd course. We were told that it could be as soon as July. We both are very anxious to be together. It has been a long 20 months and I want nothing more then to be in the arms of the man I love.

Spring Break in Karachi

On Shobi's break from school a group of his classmates and himself headed to the swimming park. This was just a few pictures Shobi shared with me. Since most of the blog is about what is going on in my life I thought I would post something about my husband. He is taking some classes to better himself in getting a job here in the USA. He is always this happy. I love his smile you can't help but smile when he does. I can't wait until we can be united. We are on the downward slope of the process but we could still have 5 to 7 months. Our lawyer informed me that I will need to be there for his interview. So off to Pakistan I will go. We don't know when the interview is and will only have a month notice at that. It will be nice to be back with my husband and his family. Now don't we wish we were having a spring break like theres!

Spring break.... SNOW!

Yesterday morning it was just raining really hard then by the afternoon it turned to snow! UGH! But spring snow doesn't stay long so it would be melting soon. Well it snowed all night but when I went to bed it was just covering the road and sidewalks.... Well.... here is what it looked like in the morning. I couldn't believe it.... I asked mom is Santa Clause came last night. I looked around but found no presents. :( It is pretty but when it is covering your tulips, daffadils and tree blossoms it is very dissappointing. I just hope the fruit trees survive. The sun is out so it might not last long but it is very heavy wet snow... Great for building a snowman!

Our poor tree I hope it will pop back up.
I did shake it off but it's still bent.

Welcoming Senia

Last night we had Corey, Shannon, Tia, Kaitlinn and Senia over for dinner. This was the first time we got to see precious little Senia. I couldn't believe what dark hair she had. We had so much fun with them. Since we didn't get to see them before Christmas we exchange a few presents and played games. The blanket Senia is laying on... Mom and I made for her. We so enjoy having them come down to visit. We did promise that next time we would go up there. Their kids are always so happy and smily. Very cute little girls. We love you guys!

Diane's 70th surprise party

Diane and Farrel
Mom gave her a crown saying "Mother to be" on it.
We couldn't find one that had a 70
on it so Mom thought this would work since she will be the new Mother to
the sister missionaries in Oakland at the Visitor Center. They are leaving
for a mission. They were called to be the new Visitor Center
Directors at the Oakland Temple.

Diane was very surprised when everyone screamed out....
Surprise and sang Happy Birthday to her.
She had no Idea this was going to happen.
She has a wonderful husband that planned it for her.

LeAnn came over to help me cook the food.
We had a very yummy dinner consisting of
Shrimp Pad Thai, Chicken Pad Thai,
Beef in Oyster sauce and Cashew Chicken.

This is a few of the people that came.

Cami, Tami, Marilyn, Aldine, LeAnn

(Left to right)
Christian, Kirsten, Leslie, Mike, Erica, Brenda, Joseph, Harry and Debra

I was so pleased that I could have a part in making Aunt Diane's 70th Birthday a happy one for her. I wish you the best this next year and thank you for letting me be part of it. I love you Aunt Diane! You are an amazing woman and we are all so lucky to have you in our life.
